Google Gemini Omni Flash Tops Artificial Analysis Video AI Leaderboards
Google's Gemini Omni Flash debuts at number one on Artificial Analysis text-to-video and image-to-video leaderboards, surpassing ByteDance's Seedance 2.0.

Google, through its DeepMind division, officially introduced Gemini Omni Flash on June 30, 2026, following an initial announcement at Google I/O in May 2026. The model is the first in the Gemini Omni family, which Google claims is a natively multimodal model capable of accepting text, image, and video inputs and generating video clips with original audio. A key feature is conversational editing, allowing users to issue commands to modify specific parts of a video without altering the entire scene. The debut was first reported via the X account of Artificial Analysis, an independent platform often used as a benchmark reference for AI models.
In its post, Artificial Analysis stated that Gemini Omni Flash immediately took the top spot on both the Text to Video and Image to Video leaderboards, narrowly displacing ByteDance's Seedance 2.0. This marks the first time a Google model has outperformed major competitors in both categories simultaneously. Gemini Omni Flash comes with impressive technical specifications. It can generate video clips ranging from 3 to 10 seconds in length, at 720p resolution and 24 frames per second, with aspect ratios of 16:9 or 9:16. Google says longer durations will be available soon. This capability makes it one of the most flexible AI video models on the market, particularly for vertical content used on platforms like YouTube Shorts.
In terms of pricing, Gemini Omni Flash is priced at $0.10 per second of generated video, or $6.00 per minute. This rate applies equally to both text to video and image to video, and is said to be on par with Veo 3.1 Fast, another Google AI video model that has already gained popularity. This competitive pricing strategy appears designed to attract developers and content creators who have long complained about the high costs of AI video production. Gemini Omni Flash is widely available. It can be accessed via the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform for developers. For consumers, it is available in the Gemini app and Google Flow.
Notably, Google has also integrated it for free into YouTube Shorts and the YouTube Create app, a move that could accelerate adoption among content creators. In its post, Artificial Analysis also included a comparison of Gemini Omni Flash with other leading models on the Video Arena. Although it did not provide detailed scores, the top ranking indicates that Google has managed to close the gap with ByteDance, which has been known for its aggressive development of AI video models. Seedance 2.0 had previously been the leader on that leaderboard before the arrival of Gemini Omni Flash. The launch of Gemini Omni Flash is part of Google's broader strategy to strengthen its position in the generative AI market.
